Football analytics infrastructure moved to a lower-cost cloud provider
We moved Impect's Kubernetes-based football data platform to a new provider to cut costs, and tuned storage, database speed, backups and monitoring along the way.
The Challenge
Impect's football analytics ran on Kubernetes clusters with large databases and a high volume of files, and scaling that setup while keeping performance up was getting harder. DevOps processes needed to become routine rather than ad hoc. On top of that, Impect wanted to cut hosting costs by switching to a different provider.
The Approach
We worked as Impect's DevOps consultants. We helped scale their operations, set up reliable backup practices and put monitoring in place so the systems keep running. We optimized data storage and database speed. When Impect decided to switch providers to reduce costs, we designed the target architecture, helped select the new provider and carried out the migration.
The Results
Impect now runs on a new provider at lower cost, with better infrastructure performance. The storage and database work made data processing faster. With backups and monitoring in place, Impect can scale its football data processing on a stable Kubernetes foundation.
