From Excel and paper to a digital certification flow for a hygiene-testing specialist
We replaced Excel and paper certificate handling with one digital flow from order to certificate, built on ebiCore for a maker of disinfection test strips.
The Challenge
DesController's certification process ran entirely on Excel and paper forms. The Swiss/German family business, in operation since 1989, sells bioindicator test strips that verify disinfection performance in hospitals, care homes and other hygiene-critical settings. An emerging EU standard is expected to expand demand for this testing, and a paper process could not scale with it.
The Approach
We built a custom operations platform in Python and Django on ebiCore, easy.bi's own platform skeleton. It replaces manual certificate handling with one digital flow from order to certificate. A guided facility wizard models customers, facilities and machines. The platform encodes the pass/fail test logic, with threshold overrides per customer. An e-commerce storefront is planned as a later phase.
The Results
DesController's team now runs certification end to end on the platform instead of Excel and paper. The platform is in daily production use, and the team is shaping the next round of features from that use. DesController can now take every customer from order to certificate in one digital flow.
