Redeveloping a tech platform for SAP integration
Lekkerland Information Systems GmbH partnered with easy.bi for the conceptualization and redevelopment of a tech platform that acts as a self-service tool for providing company data from SAP. The goal was to streamline the existing SAP monolith by extracting individual services, enabling specialized departments to develop and deliver services and applications efficiently. This initiative also paves the way for an upgrade to SAP S4/HANA, ensuring the platform is future-ready.

Our contribution
easy.bi worked with Lekkerland Information Systems GmbH to conceptualize and redevelop their tech platform, transforming it into a self-service tool for accessing company data from SAP. The new platform allows specialized departments to directly develop and deliver services, reducing dependencies on centralized IT and enabling faster development cycles.
By extracting individual services from the SAP monolith, we streamlined the architecture, making it more flexible and modular. This approach not only improves the efficiency of data access but also prepares the system for an upgrade to SAP S4/HANA, ensuring long-term scalability and performance.
Technologies used for the redevelopment include PHP, Symfony, ApiPlatform, Redis, Postgres, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Docker, and Kubernetes. BitBucket with CI/CD pipelines was used for version control and continuous integration, ensuring that the development process remained agile and efficient.
The journey to success
The success of the Lekkerland project was built on a collaborative approach and a focus on modernization. easy.bi worked closely with Lekkerland's IT and specialized departments to understand their unique requirements and design a solution that addressed their needs.
The team, consisting of approximately eight developers - including DevOps and SAP experts - worked on creating a modular architecture that made SAP data more accessible to different departments. By using modern development tools and agile practices, we ensured that the platform was both robust and adaptable to future changes.
Throughout the project, our focus remained on delivering a scalable solution that could be easily upgraded and integrated with other systems. The iterative development process and continuous feedback loops ensured that the final platform aligned with Lekkerland's vision and operational goals.
