Our HOBA needed a custom configurator to provide B2B customers with the ability to select various options and order custom products that meet their needs. easy.bi partnered with the HOBA to develop and maintain a custom configurator built for Shopware. This configurator allowed customers to easily customize products, ensuring they received exactly what they needed. We also developed an exclusion functionality to restrict options based on availability, ensuring that customers could only order items that were possible to make or were in stock.

Our contribution

easy.bi collaborated closely with HOBA to create a custom configurator that integrates smoothly with their Shopware platform. This configurator was tailored specifically for B2B customers, allowing them to choose from various product options and build custom configurations that meet their unique requirements. Additionally, the tool featured an exclusion functionality, ensuring that customers could only order items with valid combinations that were feasible to produce or currently in stock.

Subsequently, we transitioned all the configurator's features to a custom platform, utilizing Angular for the frontend and Oro Commerce for the backend. This transition allowed us to offer a more scalable and adaptable solution, with improved capabilities to accommodate future growth and integration requirements.

The technology stack included Shopware for initial development, Symfony and Vue.js for backend and frontend functionality, and MySQL for data storage. For the custom platform, we employed Oro Commerce for the backend and Angular for the frontend, along with Kubernetes for container orchestration. Agile project management was supported using Jira and Confluence.
