Empowering Travel Platforms with a Universal API Backend and Meta-Search Capabilities

Our contribution

easy.bi worked closely with Travel Graph GmbH to create a comprehensive backend platform for their travel services. We developed a universal API backend that integrates both free and paid external services, providing a unified interface for various travel-related data and services. The microservice architecture allowed for scalability and seamless integration across different travel platforms.

In addition to the backend, we also developed a meta-search platform for holiday apartments and a specialized platform for brokering villa rentals, providing users with a convenient and efficient way to find the perfect accommodation for their vacations.

We used a JSON-RPC 2.0 framework based on Symfony2 components to build a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The search frontend was developed using Angular 2 Alpha 42, providing an interactive and responsive user experience. Technologies used included PHP, Symfony2, Doctrine2 for database interaction, ElasticSearch for advanced search capabilities, RabbitMQ for message brokering, MySQL and MongoDB for data storage, and WordPress for content management.

From the outset, we worked closely with Travel Graph’s stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, and technical teams, to understand the specific needs and challenges of their travel platforms. Through discovery sessions and workshops, we identified key areas where technology could simplify processes and enhance user experiences.

Our focus on building a flexible and scalable platform allowed Travel Graph to easily integrate multiple external services into their ecosystem. By leveraging a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), we provided Travel Graph with a robust solution that could evolve with their business needs and handle the complexities of the travel industry.

Through iterative development, continuous testing, and collaboration, we refined each feature of the platform to meet the high standards required by Travel Graph GmbH. Our efforts resulted in a versatile, user-friendly platform that provides seamless travel services integration and an enhanced experience for both travel providers and customers.
