Symbios AG / Beontra AG sought to enhance their airport management capabilities by developing a comprehensive statistics and forecasting suite for short-term, medium-term, and long-term planning. easy.bi partnered with Symbios AG / Beontra AG to build a powerful Airport Management System that leverages web technologies for efficient OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) and data warehousing, ensuring seamless and data-driven planning for airport operations.
Our contribution
easy.bi collaborated closely with Symbios AG / Beontra AG to develop a statistics and forecasting suite tailored to the needs of airport management. The solution provides tools for short-term, medium-term, and long-term planning, allowing airport operators to make data-driven decisions and optimize resource allocation.
For short-term planning, we completely redeveloped the software product to provide enhanced functionality, improved performance, and a more user-friendly interface. We also introduced quality measures and a professional software development process to ensure the reliability and maintainability of the system.
The technology stack included PHP with Symfony for the back-end, Propel for ORM (Object-Relational Mapping), and MySQL, Oracle, and MS-SQL for data storage. JavaScript/AJAX (ExtJS) was used for front-end development, providing a responsive and intuitive user interface. Jenkins was implemented for continuous integration, Maven for build automation, and version control was managed with GitHub. Agile development practices were supported using Jira and Confluence.
