Empowering Creative Professionals with an Integrated Book Platform

Our contribution

easy.bi collaborated with StoryDocks GmbH to develop a universal book platform designed for authors, illustrators, and editors. This platform features a content management system (CMS), robust search functionality, and e-commerce capabilities, ensuring a smooth experience for users aiming to create, manage, and distribute their creative works.

Utilizing a JSON-RPC 2.0 framework built on Symfony components, we established a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that enabled us to create a project-specific API tailored to the unique requirements of StoryDocks. Our solution also included advanced search features powered by ElasticSearch, allowing users to swiftly locate the content they need, while the store functionality offered a marketplace for creative works.

The technology stack comprised PHP, Symfony, Doctrine for database interactions, ElasticSearch for enhanced search capabilities, RabbitMQ for message brokering, and MySQL and MongoDB for data management. We employed Chef for infrastructure automation, Jenkins for continuous integration, and managed version control through GitHub and BitBucket.

The success of the StoryDocks GmbH project was built on a foundation of collaboration, creativity, and a shared vision for empowering authors, illustrators, and editors. From the outset, we worked closely with StoryDocks' stakeholders, including product managers, authors, and editors, to understand their vision and requirements. Through discovery sessions and workshops, we identified the key features that the platform needed to succeed, such as an easy-to-use CMS, a powerful search engine, and a store for selling creative works.

Our approach focused on building a flexible and scalable platform that could grow with StoryDocks and adapt to the evolving needs of the creative community. By leveraging a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and advanced technologies, we ensured that the platform was robust, user-friendly, and capable of handling the complexities of book creation, management, and distribution.

Through continuous testing, iterative development, and close collaboration with the StoryDocks team, we refined each feature of the platform to meet their high standards of quality and performance. The result was a versatile and intuitive platform that supports the entire creative process, from ideation to publication.
