Sponsoo GmbH partnered with easy.bi to develop a high-performance, efficient, and scalable matchmaking platform for sports sponsorship. The web application connects brands with athletes, offering a custom-built negotiation platform where both parties can agree on a set of deliverables in exchange for a type of payment. Developed on Symfony, the platform was later migrated to a Kubernetes cluster within the IBM Cloud, in cooperation with IBM. Today, Sponsoo is recognized as the world’s #1 digital marketplace for sports sponsorship.
Our contribution
easy.bi worked closely with Sponsoo GmbH to create a platform that efficiently connects athletes with brands interested in sponsorship opportunities. The matchmaking platform offers a custom-built negotiation feature, enabling brands and athletes to agree on the terms of sponsorships, including deliverables and payment types. This streamlined approach makes it easier for both parties to negotiate and finalize sponsorship deals.
The platform was initially developed on Symfony, and later migrated to a Kubernetes cluster within the IBM Cloud, in collaboration with IBM. This migration ensured that the platform is scalable, reliable, and capable of handling increased usage as the platform grows. The platform is continuously updated with new functionalities to meet the evolving needs of users, helping Sponsoo maintain its position as a leading marketplace for sports sponsorship.
The technology stack included Typescript and Angular for the frontend, PHP and Symfony for backend development, and GitLab for version control. Agile project management was facilitated through Jira and Confluence, ensuring efficient collaboration and development.
The journey to success
The success of the Sponsoo platform was built on a foundation of collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for connecting brands with athletes. From the outset, we worked closely with Sponsoo's stakeholders, including sports marketers, brand managers, and athletes, to understand their needs and challenges.

By leveraging modern technologies like Angular, Symfony, and Kubernetes, we were able to create a platform that is both user-friendly and technically robust. Continuous feedback and iteration allowed us to refine the platform, ensuring that it met Sponsoo's high standards of quality and performance.
