Streamlining Electrical Charging Station Testing with an Innovative App Solution

Streamlining electrical charging station testing with an innovative app solution

MI Spekter is a company specializing in the manufacture of electronic devices. The device we work with is a Charging Station Tester (CST), which analyzes or tests electrical charging stations for electric vehicles. To use the CST, it connects to the charging station. The CST provides the parameter numbers and indicates whether each parameter is within the specified range. This information is saved to the databse, allowing users to generate reports and assess the charging station's functionality. If any abnormalities are detected, we identify the issue and take appropriate action.

Our contribution

easy.bi partnered with MI Spekter to streamline the testing process of electric car charging stations by developing an application that engineers can use to conduct diagnostics. The app allows engineers to select the charging stations they want to test and specify their locations. Since multiple charging stations may exist within a single location, we developed workspaces within the app that provide all necessary information about each charging station.

These workspaces enable engineers to generate reports, which can be shared with other engineers or printed. Additionally, engineers can create new charging stations within the app and access information from other sources as needed. This approach eliminates the need for engineers to physically test charging stations on-site. Instead, they can upload the results of their tests to the workspace, making it accessible for analysis by other engineers, regardless of location.

The solution also allows engineers to work more efficiently, providing a centralized platform for managing tests, analyzing results, and collaborating with team members.

The journey to success

The success of the MI Spekter project was built on understanding the specific challenges faced by engineers when testing electric vehicle charging stations. easy.bi collaborated closely with MI Spekter’s team to develop a solution that addressed these challenges, focusing on improving efficiency and enabling remote work capabilities.

One of the key requirements of the project was the need for a browser-based app that could function offline and be compatible with both desktop and mobile devices. We chose Angular as the technology stack to meet these requirements, ensuring that the app provided a seamless user experience across devices.

Through regular feedback loops and iterative development, we were able to create an app that not only met MI Spekter's technical requirements but also enhanced the workflow for their engineers, allowing them to collaborate more effectively.

The impact

The implementation of the app has had a significant impact on MI Spekter's operations, particularly in the testing and diagnostics of electric vehicle charging stations.

The workspaces within the app provide a centralized platform for storing test results, generating reports, and sharing information with team members. This has improved collaboration among engineers and allowed for more efficient problem identification and resolution.

The offline capabilities and compatibility with both desktop and mobile devices have further enhanced the flexibility of the solution, allowing engineers to work effectively. Overall, the app has streamlined the diagnostics process, improved efficiency, and contributed to better resource utilization for MI Spekter.
