Fressnapf Tiernahrungs GmbH, a leading pet supplies retailer, sought to improve their digital platform to better serve their community of pet owners. easy.bi partnered with Fressnapf to support and further develop their 3C platform by adding new functionalities for community engagement, CMS, and eCommerce features, including homepages, blogs, matching profiles, forums, private messaging, newsletter integration, and more. Our work also included internationalization, a multi-client solution, and a complete platform migration.

Our contribution

easy.bi worked closely with Fressnapf Tiernahrungs GmbH to support the ongoing development of their 3C platform. We developed new features for the community, CMS, and shop, such as homepages, blogs, matching profiles, forums, private messaging, and newsletter connection, to enhance user engagement and deliver an outstanding user experience.

We also extended and maintained the individually implemented eCommerce solutions, ensuring that they met the specific needs of Fressnapf's customers. The solution included internationalization and a multi-client setup, allowing Fressnapf to serve users across different regions with localized content and experiences.

Additionally, we developed a market search feature, including market homepages and a mobile website for stores and CMS. Finally, we migrated the Symfony1 application to Symfony2, modernizing the platform and improving its performance and scalability.

The technology stack included PHP, Symfony for the back-end, Doctrine for database management, SOLR for powerful search capabilities, OXID eSales for eCommerce, SAP for enterprise resource planning, and MySQL for data storage. We used JavaScript/AJAX (jQuery) for front-end enhancements, SASS for styling, and version control was managed using SVN and GitHub. Agile development processes were supported by Jira and Confluence.
